[Alana's eyes flutter open and she sits up slowly, rubbing at an eye. For the moment, she doesn't realize how much time has passed since she fell asleep to when she was finally waking, but something feels off and it's something she can't quite put a finger on to name. Alana stays in her bed for a moment, frowning as she tries to figure it out.]
[It's only when she hears her door open that she realizes what it is. It was far, far too quiet in her cabin. She's grown so used to having at least a dog around her that without the sounds of Winston, everything feels just inherently wrong. Alana gets up out of her bed, puzzled to find herself still clothed in what she thinks is yesterday's clothes. She decides it's not that important. It's likely just Abigail bringing Winston back from when she must have borrowed him for a little while. Alana doesn't mind that in the least bit. What she does mind is when she does emerge from her bedroom, she doesn't find Abigail Hobbs with Winston.]
[She finds Hannibal instead. Alana instantly freezes.]
video.
I apologize to everyone for the sudden absence, particularly to my patients, I was apparently in a coma for the past month.
[Which is easily the strangest thing to ever have to say.]
I'll resume sessions tomorrow. In the meantime, I'd be interested to know what I missed.

[He is not sure if she'd have been safer asleep, or if it's better that she's awake. This is a really hard call.]
Welcome back.

How do you feel?

[Her smile is mostly genuine, but it's also a little tight.]
Which seems to be more than others on board can say at the moment.

At least we've got a heads up, though.

I think the most we can do is mentally prepare, but for some that might not be enough.

Something has to work.

[Sometimes Alana wishes she had all the answers. Sometimes she's glad she doesn't.]
[She's not sure which one of those times this is right now.]

Still - still. We can make plans, and maybe they'll work, I don't know, but it's better than just waiting. Like you said, preparing mentally. [Trying not to drown in despair.]

They'll need you after it's over. And you'll need them.

Scott nods, though, looking away and back up at her.]
Can I come talk to you?
[He blurts it out, because he's not good at this, but he knows how to reach out to the people who can help him.]
I mean - not right now. Whenever's good.

You can come over whenever you have the time.

[She just woke up from a month long coma, he is not going to run over and spew his thoughts at her right away.]
